Help AFBA restore Shakespeare’s Church

Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon has been a place of worship for over 800 years. It was in this idyllic village church that William Shakespeare was baptized on April 26, 1564. He attended services at this church and was entombed along with family members inside the church after his death. Remaining an active church for the community and filled with rich history, Holy Trinity Church is in desperate need of assistance with a massive project that is about to be launched to restore their magnificent stained glass windows, many of which date back to the 1400’s. The surrounding stone casings of the enormous stained glass windows need considerable reinforcement and repair, and the glass and leading itself also need cleaning and repair. American Friends of British Art has agreed to provide financial assistance for this project, and we are asking our supporters to help us make an impact with this historically important restoration project. Anyone interested in making a donation directly to this project can receive a full tax-deduction for their donation and will receive a guarantee that 100% of their donation will be used for this project. If you wish to donate, please mail check to: American Friends of British Art, PO Box 2842, Palm Beach, FL 33480. In the “memo” section of your check or on a personal note, please indicate that it is for Shakespeare’s Church. Please contact us if you have any questions….and stay tuned for more updates soon!
