2015 Lecture & Luncheon

Titian-biographer and art historian Lady Sheila Hale was the guest speaker at the 4th annual Lecture & Luncheon on January 24, 2015 at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach. Lady Hale presented “Charles I of England and His Collection of Italian Paintings.” The presentation focused on how the monarch collected great paintings from Italy and Spain, and how his passion for art grew into what is now the Royal Collection. Among the notable attendees were the British Consul-General to Miami, the Honorable Dave Prodger, also in attendance was the eldest daughter of the late King Umberto II of Italy, HRH Princess Maria Pia of Savoy.

2015 Lecture & Tea

Katherine Shenaman Interiors hosted a Tea Party & Lecture for the Ambassador’s Circle of the American Friends of British Art on March 6, 2015 at the Chesterfield Hotel in Palm Beach. The guest speaker was art historian, author and dealer William Secord, who presented “Of Castles & Kennels: The English Passion for Dog Portraits.” His presentation focused on the canine in portrait and painting over the centuries, with a primary focus on dog portraits commissioned in or for connoisseurs in the British Isles. Gift bags were provided by Pioneer Linens of West Palm Beach.
