Scone Palace, presented by the Viscount Stormont

The Viscount Stormont, heir to the Earl & Countess of Mansfield, will provide a visual presentation on Scone Palace in Scotland. As the ancient seat of his family and site of historic Scottish coronations, the castle also has a significant art collection which will also be of focus. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served in the garden immediately following the lecture.

$275 per person, tickets required in advance, limited seating.

Tea & Tour

The British Embassy, Washington, D.C.

Sir Charles Roxburgh, husband to the British Ambassador, will host us for tea and guide us through the Ambassador's Residence. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and completed in 1930, it is largely called "the finest embassy in the world". The tour will also highlight the broad range of exceptional historic and contemporary artwork throughout the Residence. Following this event, guests will reconvene at the National Gallery of Art for a curated tour of the British paintings, and visit the Conservation Studios of the Gallery to witness current restoration projects underway.

Led by renowned art conservator Barbara Stella, we take a tour of her dynamic and fascinating art conservation studio and laboratory to learn about the methods, science, and ethics of conservating and restoring works on canvas, paper, wood and objects of art.
